Summary of My Book "Mike Lupica Long Shot"

Summary:
My book is about this kid named Pedro Morales he plays basketball he is the middle point guard for his team. He plays because he likes to set up his teammates to be better at playing. Ned is star forward for the receiving the ball when Pedro passes it to him. But then it was Ned's turn to throw it and Pedro said that could be the end of him being the point guard. So then Pedro decides to run for class president with Ned he was running as well. He thinks that could be the end of his friendship with Ned because they both want to be class president.

Reflection of My Book:
When I want to think about something I go to my room or I go to the soccer filed. When Pedro wants to think about something he goes to the basketball court. I could reflect to Pedro why? Because we both like basketball but I like soccer the most he like basketball more than soccer. I am afraid of messing up in soccer by shooting and Pedro is afraid to because he does not want to mess up in front if this girl he likes. I would do the same because I don't want to get embarrassed in front of her so all Pedro does is pass the ball but never shoots it in the hoop because she is always watching the game if she is not there he might of tried yo shoot the ball.

Review About My Book "The Absolutely True Dairy of the Part-Time Indian"

Review of My Book.
I am going to review about my Book "The Absolutely True Dairy of the Part-Time Indian". Its about a boy named Junior he is a cartoonist he is growing up in Indian Reservation. He was born with multiple health problems every single kid in school picks on him but his best friend. So he leaves that school and tries to attend an only white school because he wants a good education. He is the only indian except the indian mascot, his people think he is traitor because he goes and leaves his town just to get a good education. But Junior attacks his life with humor and discovers his power that he never ever knew it existed in him. READ THE BOOK TO FIND OUT MORE!!

Conflicts of My Book.
One of the main conflicts is that most of the kids at his old school pick on him. They pick on him just because he is an indian just because he is different does not mean you have the right to pick on someone. His people think he is a traitor because he goes to an all white school but he is not the only indian at that school except the mascot. The theme of my book is "Never Let Anyone Bring You Down"

Scholastic Scope: Call of Duty Summary

I read the article called 'Call of Duty". It was about a man named Jose he had a partner named Zenit it was not a human it was a dog. A really good trained dog that sniffs bombs but just them goats and an unsuspected villager can trigger the bomb. They set off like 15 bombs but one of them Jose did not spot one. He said "I rather die than lose a limb". He heard a loud explosion right near him! HE HAD STEPPED ON AN IED. His thought had come true they called the nearest helicopter it was two hours away. His dog Zenit was okay he stood by his side until the helicopter came. After months passed he had to get his legs cut off it was a sad moment for Jose. He wanted his dog but it was not Jose's dog it was the military. Zenit was assigned to a new handler because Jose was injured but then they moved Zenit to Los Angeles that is where Jose lives. They called him to say Zenit is coming to to Los Angles base. They took a 3 hour trip just to go see Zenit he went and saw him and Zenit saw him. Zenit ran to him and licked his face and he was in a wheel chair. He had metal legs and when he went out in public some of the kids asked him if he was a transformer he said "Nah Man" "Thats what happens when you don't eat you'r vegetables".
What I thought about the story was Jose was going to die because they said he had stepped on a IED. But they said he had to get his legs cut off. That was sad for me and him but they had to give the dog to a different handler. I would be hear broken if that was my partner for almost 3-4 months. This is only my opinion you can think different.

By-Stander summary/Point of View

Well the book I am reading is called "By-Stander". Its really good once you get to chapter 5 the main Character is Eric, Griffin. Griffin is a bad kid and Erick is a good kid. They are really good friends but sometimes Griffin gets Eric in trouble a lot. So Eric wants to get away from Griffin like no more being  friends with him. But Griffin is a bully so if Eric leaves him Griffin is gonna start to bully him instead. His dad send him letter of where he is and when he could send him a letter when his gets to shore. So thats how they both communicate with each other. Griffin likes hanging out with Eric but Erick does not because he in trouble a lot. Eric is trying to do good in school but Griffin does not let him.

The point of view is in Third Person how? Because one of the sentence is "Eric wants to get away from Griffin. Then if Eric leaves Griffins side Griffin is gonna start to bully Eric". I don't like reading books with third person because I am used to reading books that are in second person. I would rather want to read a book with the Second Person because it explains the book a little bit better. So my book is in Third Person.

By-Stander Summary/Character Analysis

 By-Stander Summary
The main characters of book is Eric he is the new kid in seventh grade. He just came and looking for new friends. There is this kid named Griffin he goes to the same school as Eric. He is cool and popular and Eric wants to be his friend. He sees Griffin in the middle of bad things, but if he keeps hanging out with Griffin, Erick is gonna get into more trouble with Griffin.  But Eric is trying not to be friends with Griffin but when he does do it Griffin pulls him back into trouble.

Character Analysis of Eric

Who ever reads this book sympathizes with Eric as he makes all of these new adjustments to his new life he is creating. He misses his mom and his dad because there always busy taking care of there children. Eric likes Griffin but not when he is a jerk to every one or when he gets into trouble because then he drags Eric into this. Eric is planning not to be friends with Griffin anymore because all he does is get him into trouble. But then if he stops being his friend/By-Stander then Griffin is gonna bully him and Eric is gonna become the victim instead of being the by-stander.

The Treasure of Lemon Brown

What were your reactions? My reactions were that Mr. Lemon Brown was a bad guy that wanted to hurt Greg.

How does this story connect to what we’ve already learned about homelessness? This connected to me because of the movie we watched last Thursday/Friday. How they lived on minimum wage.

What did you find interesting? Surprising? What I found surprising is that Lemon Brown was a good guy not one of those who use the money the people give them for drugs or other things.

How did Greg change throughout the story and why? Greg changed because of the lesson that Lemon Brown and his Dad gave him throughout the story. He decided to listen to his dad the next time he has a lesson to teach Greg and he will listen because he is gonna have to use that lesson sometime in life.

The story is about this man that is homeless but always sees things in a positive way. His name is Mr. Lemon Brown he finds Greg in his building because greg does not want to get wet by the rain so he goes in the building. Mr. Lemon Brown was talking to Greg about his treasure and Greg ask him do you really have a treasure? Mr. Lemon Brown says "Of course every man has a treasure". The these tow bad guys shows up looking for old Mr. Lemon Browns treasure. At the end they don't take anything because there is not gold it just his harmonica and a dirty mouth piece he gave his son after he died in the WW2. The Mr. Lemon Brown taught Greg an important lesson like his father that he would use in life one day.
